Firsty Entry

Sept 11 1936

Richmond Virginia (midnight)

It has been five days since I awakened to find myself trapped in the World of Shadows. It has been but three since I found this journal after the blood lust took control, causing my body and soul to lose all sense of moral, to give into its yearning for blood, human blood. I shiver when I remember the gruesome scene I left in my wake after I had finished satisfying myself. I cannot talk of that night, not yet, but I may write down my life's story, so you may better understand how I found myself in this world of bloodshed and darkness.

I am Tres Hawthorne. Born in Carrollton, Georgia only 15 years ago on march 27th 1921. My looks before I was changed were something that made men swoon and girls envious to no avail. I had a tumble of honey blond hair falling in waves down my back, stopping just shy of my waist, as a pair of sky blue eyes held a stare without fright, filled with a determination and openness that many girls my age could only dream of holding. I attracted attention from many men, which pleased my father, the minister of Carrollton, greatly. My father has been trying to set me up with a suitor since the time my mother died, since she always silenced any thoughts or sayings about me being married at a young age. Why father did not just get rid of my mother if he tired of her boring antics I do not know but I do know that I loved my mother deeply and I mourn her death even now. What my father did not realize was that I had already chosen my husband, though it was not any one of the men who swooned over my looks.

Ah Kohara. That was his name. Kohara Thompson was someone I loved more than the air I breathed or my heart that beat. Little did I know the secret he kept so well hidden from me, until, I walked on ground that was far to dense for my knowledge. Just thinking about him makes my breath quicken and images come flooding back to me. I spend my time in exile with my thoughts going in circles with what if's and memories of the long since past. I will dive deeper into Kohara's relation to my change later but for now, I sense dawn approaching and shall retire in till the sun sets. Goodnight my sweet friend, I shall prize you as closely as I would my sweet kitten Shadow.
